Rebirth of the light ~ how can you honour this transition from the darkness to the gentle and gradual return of the light

PRACTICE

Reflection is key ~ look how far you have come. Take a sacred pause. When we birth a baby we have something that has been coined ‘rest and be thankful’ that is the time before the baby descends and lands Earth-side. A sacred pause that is apparent in undisturbed birth (surges cease and the mother enters a dreamlike state) that allows the mother the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual out-breath to recognise that she has climbed the mountain. It is time to gather herself for the journey ahead. This time is the celestial equivalent. The time before the rebirth. A still time of refinement in the underworld. Not fully ready to be seen or appreciated as yet. As the light returns and we get glimpses of things, its important not to overlay them before we fully appreciate the roots of what has arisen.

JOURNAL

How can I practice acknowledgment in this time of pause for all that has come to be. Can I acknowledge how far I have come? What am I grateful for? Can I surrender to the greater plan for my life given the soul/soil work I have put in? What needs more attention to anchor deep before it rebirths?

FOLK HERBALISM WITH PLANT KIN

Make offerings to the Yew Trees that sit as the gatekeepers to the sacred land convergences and usher in the rebirth. To the Oak and Beech that sit as the divine masculine and feminine forest keepers

Make the most of the final dreamtime gate of the year in the deepest darkness. Even if you don’t physically work with Amanita, this is the time to acknowledge that our ‘Hyperboreal’ Ancestors - the people ‘behind the North Winds’ would have enhanced their community dreams with Sacred Amanita Muscaria. The origins of Christmas and the red and white. The gifts down and up the chimney. Sacred hearth fires burning with community dreaming ritual.

Mugwort can support you into the dreamtime (Mugwort and Amanita together is a powerful combination)

EMBODIMENT RITUAL

Go against the grain and s-l-o-w right down. Enrich your darkness with loving warmth and the glow of a simple candle flame in remembrance of our light. Deepen into hibernation as a practice - napping, warming, consolidating.

My shamanic teachers warn against ‘drawing light from outside of us’. Whilst this is a huge topic and teaching in the way of practice and far more than the scope of this container. I wanted to remind you to stay present with your own divine light, stoking your own hearth fires

Ritual

The time of the Wise Westerly Waters is for Release. Deep rest is essential. Presence is key.

Allow the last eleven moons to flow away - in Capricorn bring a presence practice - what is the message being given by your earth body?

You are worthy of rest and gentleness. Your tender soul has more to travel and so you must envelop yourself in the blanket of winter as an act of replenishment and wise care.

The great mother is sending water and cold - inviting you in as she midwives and clears the path. For now you are being asked to hunker down and honour this call inward. To meet what is present.

In the deep dark earth the spark of life glows. Our deep sleepy breaths and intentions fanning its flames. We pause to see with this tender light into the darkness.

What world are you co-creating? Before rebirth we must go through the seasons of earthing (Capricorn), visioning (Aquarius) and dissolving into oneness (Piscies)

A time of soul gardening. Listen and you will hear these kin calling to be heard. Calling to assist in the support of humanity returning to kinship. You may want to plan to seed some to be close by and to gently tend to them until they are ready to grow it alone
