FOLK HERBALISM WITH PLANT KIN

Hearts are full and tender during the harvest. There is so much beauty in acknowledging the harvest abundance as well as honouring what must be surrendered in truth and acceptance. Knowing that the wheel will always turn again. Heart elixirs come to the fore - the abundance of Hawthorn is still very possible to work with and the Rose Hips are ripe and easily plucked from the Hedge to make all manner of goodness to aid us through the colder and darker months. They are bright red to bring their warmth to our bodies, our circulation and our hearths

As the moon wanes in Cancer consider a ritual of release. Acknowledging the depths of the emotional waters. Sometimes we just need to make a crying bath and soften our bodies into the water to be at one with its fluidity. As we release into the waters, aided by salts and herbal kin we witness our agency in bringing simple ritual to our beautiful temples. It’s always at this time of year the Well Maidens become so present for me. The beautiful tenders of the sacred waters and the alchemical flame. Devote to yourself as much as you devote to your external relationships

The Celtic Wheel

In the Celtic wheel of the year we are in the Water element. This can be different depending on which wheel you are working with.

Water is a shapeshifter and it flows in whatever direction provides the least resistance. As we move through the season of water it may be necessary for us to meet the immovable seeming stone (that through which the water flows) before deciding how we need to carve out the route we need to take. We need an anchor from within in this time of flow and potentially great change within us to meet the resistance. On meeting and sitting with it, we gain new perspective on how we move around or through it. Are you ruled by your emotions?
